UKAsian are hosting 'Asian Women in Politics'.

This will be a unique take on politics in Britain.

Less than a quarter of British parliamentarians are women with British Asian women making up much less than a fraction of that number.

Asian Women in Politics will explore the contribution of women, in particular British Asian women, to British political discourse through the eyes of three young women Prospective Parliamentary Candidates.

Conservative PPC for Newport East- Ms Natasha Asghar

Liberal Democrat PPC for Ealing Southall- Ms Kavya Kaushik

Labour PPC for Harrow East- Ms Uma Kumaran

The discussion will focus on the individual stories of these inspirational women, their aspirations for their communities and for Great Britain, explore what is means to be a woman of South Asian origin in British politics and through their journeys inspire and empower future generations of British Asian Women.
