Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) is hosting its annual 'live chef cook off competition' on 17 September, where 50 incredible chefs from across the UK, who work in curry houses and takeaways will be competing in London. The event takes place at Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College at 11am; and promises to be morning of passion and fun!
The live chef cook off is part of BCA’s annual search for the 'Best Chef of the Year'. It is a popular competition, where hundreds of applications were received and whittled down to 50 talented chefs who have been selected for their skills, innovation, presentation of food, hygiene standards and customer service.
Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College, is the perfect location for this cook off with its exceptional facilities and BCA would like to thank the College for its continued support.
The judges for this year’s cook off are – Andy Doyle, from People’s First; Vita Whitaker, Whitco; Gerrard Madden, Wembley Stadium; Pawan Khatiwoda, Head Chef of Production, Wembley Stadium; Steven Gomez, UK Curry Champion of the Year at Dusk, Brentwood; Mark Bradford, Area Manager, Product Solutions & Training Coupe; and Atik Rahman, Head of Chef Award Committee, BCA.
The ten winners from this ‘cook off’ will be recognised and rewarded at BCA's 14th Annual Award's at the Park Plaza hotel Westminster on 27 October 2019; a key event for the UK’s food and hospitality sector. The theme of this year’s Awards is - BCA: The Home of Great British Curry.
BCA was set up in 1960, representing over 12,000 UK curry houses and takeaways, and is an industry that contributes £4.2 billion to the national economy. This ‘Chef Competition Cook-off’ is important to the industry, which nurtures and promotes talented chefs, who are crucial to this sector.
