Carnatic singer Bombay Jayashri was reportedly rushed to a hospital after she suffered an aneurysm while on tour in the United Kingdom. The Sangita Kalanidhi designate is currently touring the country for her concerts. Her family issued a statement saying she had a health setback and underwent a surgical procedure for an aneurysm.
They issued a post on Jayashri's social media account and added, “She received timely medical intervention thanks to the capable staff at the NHS and her accompanying artistes. She is currently stable and recovering well, she requires rest for a couple of days.” They requested privacy and said her health status would be updated.
Last week, Bombay Jayashri was scheduled to perform at the Tung Auditorium, Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, University of Liverpool. She is an accomplished singer who sings in many languages and has delighted audiences with popular numbers rendered for Indian films.
