Rajay Naik, former director of The Open University, has been appointed chief commercial officer at Study Group.
Naik’s previous tenure as Keypath Education’s European CEO saw him lead the rapid expansion of the company’s online degree programmes on behalf of the University of Exeter, Aston University and other prestigious higher education institutions.
Study Group is a leading provider of international education. It enables students from around the globe to succeed at degree level, by helping them develop the necessary study and language skills. Last year, 60,000 students from 150 countries chose Study Group to provide them with life-changing learning experiences.
Prior to this, Naik led all external functions of The Open University for five years and was a key architect of the FutureLearn MOOC platform. He was also one of five members of the landmark review of UK higher education chaired by Lord Browne.
Emma Lancaster, Study Group’s CEO said, “We’re delighted to welcome Rajay to the team”, says. “He brings a fresh perspective and invaluable expertise to our global executive team.”
“Universities are increasingly looking at new forms of academic delivery – and they expect private sector partners to recognise this and satisfy demand,” said Naik.
“So I’m particularly excited to be joining Study Group, as it is exceptionally positioned to extend its impact on global education over the coming years.”
“Rajay is uniquely qualified to lead our new product development”, adds Lancaster. “We’re entering a new era and expect to innovate to ensure the best international student experience possible.”
