Now in its eleventh year, Prideview Group’s annual cricket event, the Prideview Cricket Cup, raised £35,000 for charitable causes. Held at the Merchant Taylor’s School in Northwood, Greater London on 18 July, the event supported LandAid for the first time alongside long-term charity partner, One Kind Act. With this year’s funds, the Prideview Cricket Cup has raised over £200,000 for One Kind Act since its inauguration. The group supports various charities in the UK and globally.
One Kind Act, seeks to create a sustainable improvement in the lives of people suffering from poverty of health and education around the world. This year’s funds are being split between YUVA Unstoppable which supports disadvantaged children in India with basic needs and education, and LandAid, the property industry charity which works to end youth homelessness in the UK.
The day consisted of six 6-a-side cricket teams battling it out for the #PrideviewCricket Cup. Major Estates Harrow took home the #PrideviewCricket Cup for the second year running, while newcomers to the event, Cordage Group came second.
Knight Frank, joined by the Middlesex D40 (Disability) Team won The Prideview Champions Trophy. The team showed that physical and neurodiverse differences are no barrier to partaking in sports.
Participants in the event included six former international cricketers, Owais Shah, Yasir Arafat, Alex Tudor, Ali Brown, Saj Mahmood and Usman Afzal, each supporting one of the 6-a-side teams.
Alongside the cricket, a lively auction and raffle helped to reach the total of £35,000.
Nilesh Raj Patel, Principal at The Prideview Group said, “I’d like to thank all our sponsors, supporters and spectators for digging deep and making this event the huge success it is. While the day is always great fun, the overall purpose is always to raise as much money for charity, and we are thrilled to have reached the amount we have. I’m proud of all the teams and thankful for everyone’s support. Bring on #PrideviewCricket 2024!”
