The Bharat Cricket Community (BCC) has announced the start of the seventh season of BPL 7 for cricket fans across the UK. This competition aims to bring the thrill and competition of the Premier League to nearby cricket grounds with its abundance of outstanding players.
Joining hands with local cricket clubs and communities, the BCC aims to revolutionise the cricketing experience for both players and fans alike. The auction was completed on 30 June and now 9 teams will be competing.
Similar to the Indian premier league, the tournament's structure will involve round-robin league play followed by knockout rounds. The T20 format will be used for the matches, guaranteeing frantic action and exciting contests. A comprehensive set of rules and regulations will regulate the competition in order to preserve the fairness of the game.
This tournament aims to recognise and celebrate the local cricketing heroes who often go unnoticed. By providing them with a platform to display their talent, the tournament not only offers them the opportunity to play but also inspires the younger generation to pursue their cricketing dreams.
With a focus on fan engagement, the tournament will feature exciting promotions, interactive activities, and a festive atmosphere at the grounds. Spectators will have the chance to witness enthralling cricketing action while enjoying a range of entertainment options, including live music, food stalls and merchandise.
The BCC's commitment to promoting equality and inclusivity extends to their IPL-style tournament. In an effort to support women's cricket and provide equal opportunities, the tournament will feature a dedicated women's division. This will not only help in nurturing women's cricket but also inspire more girls to take up the sport.
