Kohli recommended for Khel Ratna award

Indian skipper Virat Kohli's name has been recommended for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. The Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has also recommended the name of Rahul Dravid for the Dronacharya award following the amazing success he's had with the India A and Under 19 side - that won the World Cup in New Zealand/Australia. Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar's name has been recommended for Dhyan Chand Award, which is India's highest award for lifetime achievement in sports and games. The BCCI has also recommended cricketers Smriti Mandhana and Shikhar Dhawan for the Arjuna Award, in recognition of the exuberant performances.

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has recommended the names of Shahzar Rizvi, Shreyasi Singh, Pooja Ghatkar and Ankur Mittal for Arjuna award. The Indian Weightlifting Federation has recommended the names of Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, Sanjita Chanu and Venkat Rahul Ragala for Arjuna award while chief national coach Vijay Sharma's name has been recommended for Dronacharya award.

The Wrestling Federation has recommended the names of women freestyle grapplers Ritu Phogat and Jyoti. In the men’s freestyle, the names of Pawan Kumar, Vinod Omprakash and Sumit have been recommended

The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has decided to recommend the names of Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri for the Arjuna Award.
