A sportsperson was arrested for fudging age. Amol Kolpe, a cricketer for Malegaon, was detained by the Baramati police in connection with an age-fraud case. A Baramati court sentenced him to a 14-day magistrate's prison. Kolpe now has the option of moving a plea for regular bail after arrest. The case is related to a qualifying round of the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA)’s Under-19 invitation league matches held in January this year. Kolpe provided documentation that listed his birthday as September 28, 2007. However, further research revealed that he was born on February 15, 1999, as stated in other documents. Following a complaint by Nana Satav, a representative of the Karbhari Club, which claimed to be an aggrieved party being in the same group as Kolpe's club, the police detained Kolpe and booked three other people on allegations of cheating and forgery. Kolpe allegedly filed fake documents to hide his age, according to the complaint.
