The attack on Priti Patel is a shame. Sir Philip Rutman was willing to implement the Conservatives' 'hostile environment' when the target were us- the immigrants. In fact he was nowhere to be seen as well during the Windrush scandal. But today when a woman of colour has taken on the charge, and demands full efficiency, the 'pale and stale' establishments don't like the change a strong woman is bringing to the civil service. It is quite unfortunate. The role of the civil servant is to provide advice to ministers- whether they take it or not, is their business!
