Louis has over 30 years commercial experience in managerial and operational roles with global scope, working for BP. He has managed subsidiary businesses in UK, Scandinavia and the Netherlands, and worked in global business environments, including business development projects in Russia, India and the Far East. He has also been involved in acquisitions and mergers and has chaired two UK industry associations.
Recently Louis has been advising and undertaking interim management roles across a number of industry sectors, most recently focussed on the Nordic region. He is currently Chairman of the Danish UK Chamber of Commerce, and works as a Business Sales and Acquisitions Consultant.
Louis has an MA in Geography from Oxford University.

1) What is your current position?
Chairman of the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce
2) What are your proudest achievements?
In my current role: growing the Chamber’s membership, rebuilding the Board, and overseeing a happy, motivated team. In life: my children.
3) What inspires you?
The natural landscape, with the changing seasons.
4) What has been the biggest obstacle in your career?
People not fulfilling commitments – including me!

6) What is the best aspect about your current role?
Working with a great team, with a wide range of activities and contacts, where every day is different.

Not enough time or resources
8) What are your long term goals?
To enjoy a good work-life balance.
9) If you were Prime Minister, what one aspect would you change?
Improve the legal aid system
10) If you were marooned on a desert island, which historical figure would you like to spend your time with and why?
Tycho Brahe: he could teach me about the stars, improve my Danish, and I could find out what his prosthetic nose was made of!
