Bharat Mata Ki Jai

The 73rd Independence Day of India was celebrated all over the world by Indians with added enthusiasm. And, you all know what was that added enthusiasm, right? In UK too, not only High Commission but various associations of Indian communities did celebrate the Independence Day at different places, equally zealously.

Indians living abroad always show special affection and attachment to the motherland. Their way of celebrating Indian festivals is unique and original. In some countries, they add local flavours too. Mother India is dear to all of us and we do not lose a chance to express our gratitude to her.

A group of Indians who gathered peacefully for the Independence Day celebration at India Place is an example. Having tricolour in hand and reciting songs in the praise of nation, community members also faced adversities boldly. A Kashmiri woman waved Indian flag exuberantly while the gathering reverberated Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata ki Jai. Even when protesters were outrageous, they stood up courageously to counter them and to support Indian cause. They have shown indefatigable spirit to stand for the unity and pride of motherland even when confrontational wave was very strong. Elderly, women and children also held their ground firmly, truly following the principle of non-violence, giving a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary year.

It is proven that adding number of men doesn’t mean strength but conviction and courage for the campaign means it. Imam Hussain and his seventy two followers became martyrs while fighting for a true cause, and they are the winners in the history. The group of people who did Salt March with Gandhi was not masculine but still won against the strongest force. So were the Indians celebrating national day in London. History repeated itself to prove that truth wins over false, good wins over evil.

It is true that fight for national pride and independence was not over in 1947, but continues till date. Every Indian, living in any corner of the world, works day and night to promote India and its interest. Working as ambassadors of the country, community members create a small Hindustan wherever they go. Forgetting the differences of religion, caste, or language, they unite to make a diverse India. That is the reason that anyone who is once an Indian, remains forever Indian for generations to come.
