On Thursday, October 17, Moore Kingston Smith, a prominent advisory, tax, and audit firm, hosted its 23rd annual Diwali reception at its city office. The event welcomed over 120 guests, including clients and business contacts from various sectors across London and the South East.
The reception celebrated the Festival of Lights, underscoring the firm’s enduring relationships with the Indian business community. The evening featured an inspiring speech from Mr. Subhash V Thakrar OBE, a respected leader within the business sector. He highlighted the significance of Diwali in the Hindu calendar and reminded guests about “Chopda Pujan,” a tradition of seeking blessings from Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi to mark the beginning of the new year. Thakrar emphasised that Diwali is a time for reflection and renewal.
Guests were also treated to a special video message from Lord Karan Bilimoria, who extended his heartfelt wishes: “Let us look forward to this new year with optimism, and I wish you all a very, very happy Diwali.”
Adding to the festivities, attendees enjoyed a captivating dance performance by Kashmira Sunni and her team, which beautifully captured the spirit of the festival. The culinary offerings, curated by Chef Patron Dayashankar Sharma of Heritage Dulwich, featured a delightful array of dishes that enhanced the evening's vibrant atmosphere.
