Headteacher, Ramanbhai Parmar and the deputy head teacher,  Sumanbhai Mianger, at Sparkhill Gujarati School in Birmingham, praised staff for their outstanding contributions.
Sparkhill Gujarati School has over a dozen teachers, some of whom have been volunteers since the school was established in 1979.
Last Friday's parents evening heard from Ramanbhai, Sumanbhai, Gopalbhai Champaneri, also from our senior news editor, Dhiren Katwa and Mukeshbhai Ladwa, President of Shri Lakshminarayan Temple where the classes are run.
The key message to parents was to encourage your child to learn their mother-tongue, which is the foundation of one's culture and way of life.
