A business owner has been left devastated after a suspected drunk driver smashed into the front of his city centre shop.
Hafiz Hussain was called out of bed just after 5am on Saturday after a Vauxhall Astra hit the front door of Best Price Bathrooms, in Belgrave Gate, smashing the glass, bending the door and knocking bricks out of the wall.
Inside the premises, bricks which had flown out of the wall were scattered across the store.
Leicestershire Police said a man had been arrested in connection with the crash, and charged with drink driving.
When Mr Hussain arrived at his shop he was met with the sight of the car wedged into the facade.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended to make sure the building was safe.
