York: Two dogs barked 43 times a minute for 20 minutes, which ultimately caused their owners to be fined after council workers stood outside their house, monitoring the noise.
The court was informed that the two Jack Russells, belonging to Brenda and Brian Goulding (52), would continuously bark for hours when left alone in the terraced house.
The constant loud barking would disturb the next-door neighbours who were unable to watch TV or read a book due to the disturbing noise.
Prosecutor for York Council, Jan Catchpole, said the noise enforcement officers had counted that the dogs barked 43 times a minute.
