33-year-old delivery driver, Usman Humaydun, from Blackley, allegedly stole children's toy worth £62,000 from his employer to sell on a market stall. He has avoided being jailed after informing the judge that he was “very scared” of going to prison.

The father-of-one allegedly took unsold toys that should have been returned to his employers at Spot Promotions Limited over a two year period, to sell in his market stall on Sundays.

The company carried out stocktakes and noticed a large number of their goods were missing, and hence, called the police to investigate. Customers also informed the company that their merchandises were being sold by Humaydun at his stall.

Manchester Crown Court heard that Humaydun had allegedly kept two large storage containers in a warehouse in Failsworth, Oldham, where he stored stolen gadgets and toys.

Usman Humaydun was given an eight-month jail sentence, suspended for a year. He was ordered to complete 120 hours unpaid work.
