23-year-old graduate from Coventry University, Maitrayee Kulkarni established her own company called Embuce Intercorporate and is now gearing up to release a range of herbal cosmetic products, starting with a herbal hair colour.

Her inspiration for her business drew from her own passion for the cosmetics and beauty industry, as well as her struggle to find the right products.

Maitrayee Kulkarni stated, “It is my mission to have herbal products on the shelves of the high-end retailers to compete with all the other cosmetics, which have already made a niche for themselves. I want to make sure people understand that herbal cosmetics are not as expensive, and that all the stigmas and myths attached do not exist.”

Robin Underhay, of Coventry University's Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship said, “The detail in Maitrayee’s business plan demonstrated the potential her products have and we are delighted to have been able to assist her in her first steps into the industry. Maitrayee has discovered a real niche, and with her in-depth knowledge of the market is well-equipped for huge success.”
