The parents of Madeleine McCann, the little girl who went missing in Portugal, have had to close down their Twitter account after being subjected to abuse by “toxic” supporters of Ben Needham's family.
Kate and Gerry McCann expressed how these hurtful posts were restraining the global search for their daughter.
The web chief who operates the official Find Madeleine Campaign on Twitter stated, “They agree it's time to remove ourselves from a place that allows so much toxic content to be directed at us and does not permit us the ability to protect ourselves from people who want to damage the search for Madeleine.”
