The National Crime Agency held Khalil Alksaied Ahmed(25), as part of an investigation into a gang that were charging migrants up to £5,000 in order to be smuggled into the UK, via Channel ports.
The migrants consisted of mainly, Albanians, Iraqis and Syrians would be boarded onto lorries at lay-bys and motorway service stations in Belgium, before trying to get into the UK.
Omran Hassan (25), was also arrested and was held in Birmingham.
Both, Ahmed and Hassan are Syrian nationals and appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court. They were remanded in custody and are to appear in court on June 18 for their full extradition hearing.
