UK-India: A modern partnership

I would like to wish India a very happy Independence Day. Today, the UK and India share a modern, forward-looking partnership which includes the search for a COVID-19 vaccine, protecting our planet against climate change and building our economies back better. But the relationship is more than these global issues, it is about our living bridge of people-to-people links.  The 1.5 million strong Indian diaspora in the UK - contributing in all walks of life, from the top of government and industry to the frontlines of the NHS working around the clock to help those affected by COVID-19 – is an incredible example of this.
