A man has been killed on Friday 11th December, at approximately 9am, in Wood Green, during “an intelligence led operation”.

It is said that the unidentified man was allegedly trying to set free either Erwin Amoyaw-Gyamfi or Erun Izzet, who are charged with carjacking and firearm offences; they were about to make an appearance at Wood Green Crown Court.

A Police statement was released, which read, “Officers from the Met Police Organised Crime Command and Specialist Firearms Operational Command Unit, have... arrested four men as a result of a pre-planned intelligence led operation. Two of the men were arrested in the area of Bracknell Close, N22. They have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to facilitate the escape of an individual from lawful custody. There were two further related arrests... During the operation in Bracknell Close a man was shot, and has subsequently died. The circumstances of that shooting are now under investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission and as such it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this stage.”

Furthermore, Police has confirmed that the shooting was not related to terrorism.
