Police are hunting for a man who is suspected of trying to set fire to Finsbury Park Mosque, north London, using a petrol bomb.
CCTV images have been issued. The suspect was also filmed outside the mosque, which was once run by the radical cleric Abu Hamza, on Friday 27th November, just before 8:30pm, allegedly wrapping clothing around a jerry can filled with petrol, setting the clothing alight and throwing the can into the compound of the mosque.
The police are treating this incident as an anti-Muslim hate crime, and are appealing for information.
The suspect has been described as a white man wearing blue jeans, a white baseball cap and a white hooded jumper. It is also believed that the suspect had fled the scene on a moped.
