Osborne under pressure to tax betting machines

Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne has allegedly been blocking a review into betting machines citing the tax revenue generated by them. Osborne faces steady opposition from Tory MPs over his failure to act against the fixed-odds betting terminals that raised £425 million for the Treasury last year.

The pressure mounted after Josh Jones, a talented musician and former university hockey team captain, jumped from the ten-storied headquarters of PriceWaterhouseCoopers in London last year after his gambling debts from online poker kept mounting.
