Feltham and Heston MP Seema Malhotra has called for more to be done to counter the growing threat from Daesh or the so-called Islamic State.
Speaking on a visit to Washington as part of the British America Parliamentary Group visit Malhotra said "Both America and Britain as well as other nations are debating how to respond more robustly to the rise of Daesh and the threat to security at home and abroad. We need more effective ways in which the police are working with local communities, schools and faith groups."
"This is an issue for us all perhaps the most major international security threat we face. It is also clear that we need to work in partnership with nations in the Middle East who are facing the impacts of ongoing war also on the economy, security and rising numbers of refugees."
