Arjunbhai Devabhai Modhwadia, the Congress leader, is on a visit to UK. He was born on 17th of February 1957 in the village of Modhwada. He had a modest upbringing and was taught the lesson of humility and respect for others. He graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Lakhdeersinhji Engineering College, Morbi.
After graduation, Modhwadia started his professional career as an Assistant Engineer with Gujarat Maritime Board for almost 10 years. In 1993 he quit his job and devoted himself to public service. He became a member of Indian National Congress, in the year 1997. He was elected a Member of Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Porbandar Legislative Constituency in the year 2002. He was appointed the Leader of the Opposition in the Gujarat Assembly between 2004 and 2007. The public took notice of his work and leadership skills and he retained his membership of Gujarat Legislative Assembly after the general elections of 2007.
