HE The President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni is going to inaugurate The Lohana International Business Forum (LIBF) 2023- Africa Calling. From March 19 to 22, 2023, LIBF will take place in Speke Resort & Conference Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala, Uganda. Mobilizing quality investments and fostering trade between Lohana Entrepreneurs is the theme of the event. LIBF will explore a renewed commitment by Lohana Business stakeholders to build better community business, investment, and trade connections.
Satish Vithalani:
President International Lohana Mahaparishad
“The business people and professionals from Lohana are successful in their respective industries, but regrettably they are strangers. A prosperous businessperson does not know other businessmen in the same industry. The Doctors in Africa are not connected with the Doctors of Mumbai, Ahmedabad or elsewhere in the World. The IT sector features the same scene. So, it was very necessary to give a platform to them to know each other. I had a series of discussions with Vijaybhai Karia, Subhashbhai Thakrar and all members and that’s how Lohana International Business Forum was born. Everyone can explore the possibilities of doing business together. We want to develop the brand Lohana which will be known for its quality. Africa calling will bring them under one roof. If anybody wants to do business in east Africa then they will be updated, guided and assisted for any venture. LIBF opening will be done by H.E. The President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni and it is a great honour for all of us.”
Lord Dolar Popat:
Prime Minister’s Trade and Investment envoy to Uganda, Rwanda and DRC.
“I would like to invite all the Lohanas to this one of its own kind events, well planned by Satishbhai VIthalani and Conveyed by Subhashbhai Thakrar. Globalisation is something that we have all talked about since last 3-4 decades. Globalisation first started by landing on the shores of Lake Victoria and the Madhvani and Mehta families have been there since 1980. So, we Lohanas are Global, you will find the Lohanas in every part of the world. One good thing about us is that we are merchant people and we always excel in business. It is important that we meet each other and think about that how we can complement each other. Secondly, Africa is the continent of my special interest in the Parliament, a continent that I love. 1.3 billion people, 17% of the world population and these people are going to double in 30 years of time, so a quarter of the world’s population will be in Africa. Currently, Africa’s GDP is 3%. You can imagine the potential Africa has for businesses over the next 30-40 years. I think Africa is the next frontier for Trade and Investment. The continent is 30 million square kilometres in size and has extremely fertile soil. It’s an amazing continent to work, live and trade. Lohanahas have shown a good example in the past to succeed in the great continent of Africa. Hence, I am delighted to see you all at this important event. It will be a turning point for the community. We sincerely wish to leave a global legacy for the next generation.”
Vijay Karia:
Chairman LMP Business Development Committee
“It is a first-of-its-kind effort of the Lohana International Business Forum. There are a lot of Sponsorship and exhibit opportunities. It will be a strong medium to build strategic and trusted relationships and create values. The one-to-one meetings will be arranged between African and other companies, investors and other stakeholders. A series of networking and exhibition centre will be available to showcase the company or organisations to leading businesses and key government officials. Interact with trade and business associations and Government agencies to get insights on promising sectors for investments, markets for exports, and imports and hear about business opportunities, government policies and success stories. A dedicated workshop will focus on how to trade with Africa and other markets. The Forum will provide a platform, par excellence, for networking and deal-making.”
Subhash Thakrar
