Indian nationals can now visit the UK and Ireland on single visa

It is now said that Indian nationals will be the first to benefit from the new UK-Ireland visa deal, a new scheme which has been introduced in hope of boosting tourism and business for the UK and Ireland.

The scheme was launched from 10th February 2015. Indian nationals can now apply for their UK or Irish visitor visas under the single British-Irish Visa Scheme. Indians will now be able to visit both countries on the same trip.

Those who will be using the British-Irish Visa Scheme will however, need to arrive and travel to the country which had first issued their visa, before being able to travel to the other country. Visitors transiting via the UK to Ireland will not require a separate transit visa.
