Driving change together

I am delighted to host the third edition of Be The Change panel discussion on Climate Change at the Peers' Dining Room, House Of Lords on 12th July.

I had the opportunity to host the event last year and was greatly encouraged by the concern shown by the audience for the real threat posed by global warming and climate change. Sadly the brunt of this scourge is borne by the poor and marginalised of our society in the form of extreme and uncertain weather patterns, food insecurity, disease, water scarcity and a host of other tragedies.

I say this with conviction and much sadness as the founder of the Loomba Foundation which has been working tirelessly for the betterment of widows and their children in some of the most impoverished sections of society across the globe. I believe that mitigation of climate change is the responsibility of every citizen across society. As the title of this important panel discussion suggests we have to be the change if we want to see a better tomorrow.

I wholeheartedly thank CB Patel, Chairman Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar for highlighting the impact of this global emergency through this panel discussion and through the pages of Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar.

I wish the event every success.
