Alan Wilsdon stood in the dock at Brighton Crown Court last Friday (March 6) to answer a charge of causing death by driving without due care and attention while over the drink-drive limit.
The prosecution had an indictment prepared for Wilsdon, 52, to enter a plea to, but the defence argued that they still need to examine CCTV footage and expert evidence. As a result Wilsdon did not enter a plea.
Wilsdon, from Wilmington Close, in Broadfield, is alleged to have caused the death of Mohamed Shamim, on London Road, in Manor Royal, on May 18 last year.
