Polling suggests the Conservatives are poised to be “all but wiped out” in London in the upcoming general election.

Savanta’s final survey of Londoners shows Labour 30 points ahead, with 49% intending to vote Labour.

Despite Sir Keir Starmer’s party dropping six points from the previous week, it still leads comfortably over the Conservatives, who are down three points to 19%.

Reform UK has climbed to 11%, up three points, while the Liberal Democrats hold at 10%, the Greens at 6%, and other parties and candidates at 5%.

The Conservatives, currently holding 20 seats in London, are expected to see a significant drop, reflecting a nationwide trend of voters turning away from the party. In the 2019 general election, only four seats in London changed hands, with the Tories and Labour each gaining and losing two seats, and the Liberal Democrats also gaining and losing one seat.

Chris Hopkins, Savanta’s political research director, stated, “Our research indicates that the Conservatives could face near elimination in London if these results hold on election day. The party is highly unpopular in the capital, losing votes to Reform UK and facing challenges from both Labour and the Liberal Democrats. Labour is trusted by Londoners on every key policy issue, from housing to the cost of living. This trust will likely drive Londoners' decisions on polling day, with many looking forward to a collaborative relationship between a London Mayor and the national government.”
