Essex Indians celebrated Saraswati puja and the Republic day of India recently at the Shenfield Parish Hall. The celebration was lively and homely with community participation and heartwarming contribution from charity supporters. The afternoon started with decoration of the hall and setting up of puja area including stalls that sold from jewellery to food. The Essex Indians supporters maintained wonderful tradition of providing homecooked food and prashad to community and ensured to serve it in ecofriendly disposable utensils. Cultural programme included a saraswati vandana, Bihoo dance, bhajans, patriotic songs as well as violin rendition of the Indian national anthem.
