Helen and Arun Kumar are desperately in search of a blood donor to keep their two-year-old daughter alive.

Two-year-old Elsie has Down's syndrome and developed myeloid leukaemia in October 2014. She was admitted at Great Ormond Street hospital in June for chemotherapy.

Her parents are hoping for a blood stem cell transplant in order for Elsie to beat blood cancer. However, the chances for Elsie finding a matching donor seems difficult as she has no siblings and she has a mixed heritage. Her father is of Indian ethnicity while her mother is white.

Mr and Mrs Kumar have launched a donor search through Facebook and Twitter (@AMatchForElsie); they are also being helped by Delete Blood Cancer UK. However, they need more people to register as donors. Your blood stem cell could save someone's life; in this case, Elsie's.
