The first scheduled non-stop flight from Australia to the UK arrived at London's Heathrow Airport on 25th March 2018. The Qantas flight completed 9,009 miles from Perth to London in just over 17 hours. Chief Executive Officer at Qantas, Alan Joyce called this new service a “game-changing route”.

It is a game-changer indeed compared to the “kangaroo route” for Qantas flights between Australia and the UK in 1947, which took four days and seven stops to reach its destination.
