People in large numbers gathered at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad to see airplanes perform aerobatics as part of the Gujarat Aero Conclave. The airplanes performed stunning aerial displays and the ballet of the moving aircraft, brightening up the skies of the city. People were amazed to see the stunts and the formations as they clicked photographs on the second day of the conclave.
"The show performed by the Air Force was amazing and we enjoyed it. I am proud of my Air Force officers who show stunts with airplanes," said a tourist from Mumbai. The conclave has been organised to promote civil aviation sector in the western region and give impetus to the “Make in India” initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The ministry of civil aviation has organised the conclave in partnership with state government and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Its objective is to provide an unmatched platform to debate on diverse topics relating to policy and regulatory regime and emerging challenges in the world.
Daring acrobatics by UK flyers
Acrobatics by planes in the sky brought Ahmedabad to a grinding halt for several hours as thousands of families flocked to the Sabarmati Riverfront to catch a glimpse of the audacious acrobatic flyers from the UK showcasing daring flips and manoeuvres on its last day on Saturday.
What was magic in the air turned out to be horror on roads. What triggered the chock-a-block was more than 2,000 people standing on Gandhi and Nehru bridges, many with their vehicles. A large number of people also climbed up their terraces to catch a glimpse of the show.
