Hyderabad: Telangana is planning a massive sapling plantation drive with chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao asking officials to turn 'Haritha Haram' as a people's movement and not just a government event. Rao held a review meeting, with all the district collectors, superintendents of police and forest officials, and said extra measures should be taken to protect the saplings by providing tree guards and animal trappers at the entrances of campuses of major institutes. He directed the collectors to constitute committees with school headmasters, tehsildars, village revenue officers, sarpanches, ZPTC and MPTC members to protect the saplings.
