Prajwal sent to judicial custody till June 24

A Karnataka court sent suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader Prajwal Revanna to judicial custody till June 24 in connection with rape and molestation cases. A Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the case, didn't seek any further custody as it completed the spot inquest. While in their custody, the SIT conducted an investigation, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, and questioned Prajwal about the allegations. The court, taking into consideration the gravity of the allegations and the evidence presented by the SIT, decided to remand him to judicial custody for 14 days, till June 24. Following his arrest, he was sent to police custody till June 6 and was later extended it till June 10.
