Man held for occupying chair

Chennai: An RTI applicant was arrested for occupying a chair while the Tamil Nadu State Information Commission was hearing his appeal. NGO Legal Panchayat Movement president Siva Elango was arrested as he sat even as the information commissioners refused to accede to his request for a chair during the hearing of his appeal. There is no rule preventing an RTI applicant from sitting during a hearing.
