Bengaluru: With a large number of people travelling to North Indian states, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has planned to deploy its services to Gujarat and Rajasthan. However, the KSRTC cannot ply the buses without a bilateral arrangement with the Maharashtra. KSRTC Managing Director Rajender Kumar Kataria said, “We need to have a bilateral pact with Maharashtra. That is why the entry of our buses is barred on certain routes to Gujarat and Rajasthan. Once Maharashtra opens up, travel further North is easier. Our plan is to run KSRTC buses to Gujarat and Rajasthan and this can happen if Maharashtra and Karnataka agree to certain norms.” The corporation is also working on bilateral pacts with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The department's aim is to have a good hold in South India and Western India by having bilateral arrangements.
