Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has shelved plans for £210 million steel flyover from Basaveshwara Circle to Hebbal Junction in Bengaluru following the seizer of a diary from Congress MLC K Govindaraj in which it was mentioned that £65 million has been “received.” “We've to cancel the project as we've to prove our sincerity. Corruption charges are levelled against us when we haven't taken a single rupee in kickbacks,” Bengaluru development minister KJ George said. “We do not want to take the blame for something we have not done. We are dropping the project. The steel bridge project has become a pain point for us. The media has been speaking about corruption every day,” he said.
