Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has declined to postpone arguments of Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) in the appeals filed by AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalithaa and others against their conviction in the disproportionate assets case. DMK leader K Anbazhagan had filed a memo before Justice C R Kumaraswamy, who is hearing the appeals, seeking postponement of arguments of SPP G. Bhavani Singh till the Supreme Court heard Anbazhagan’s special leave petitions for appointing a new SPP, and also to allow him to be an intervener in the appeals. In the memo Anbazhagan had said that it would not be appropriate for Singh to continue arguments in the appeals since the issue of continuation of Singh as SPP is pending before the Apex Court.
