Boy paraded naked in Karnataka to please rain god

CHITRADURGA (Karnataka): A boy was paraded naked at a drought-hit village in Chitradurga district, Karnataka, to please the rain God. The bizarre ritual came to light after a video of the incident went viral. It showed water being poured on the boy, and the villagers performing pooja. The naked kid is then made to carry the idol in the village while the villagers beat drums and chanted mantras. He is later offered new clothes as per the practice prevalent in the village. Officials said the incident happened in Pandarahallin on June 10.
