Apple to create 4000 jobs in Hyd

HYDERABAD: Apple Inc has announced the opening of a new office in Hyderabad, that will solely focus on the development of Maps for their products. With CEO Tim Cook on a 4-day visit to the country, several projects were announced in a bid to strengthen ties between the Californian tech giant and India. While the company did not disclose the amount of investment it intends to put in the facility, a statement issued by it said the investment will accelerate Maps development and create up to 4000 jobs. Cook said, "We are thrilled to open this new office in Hyderabad which will focus on Maps development. The talent here in the local area is incredible and we are looking forward to expanding our relationships and introducing more universities and partners to our platforms as we scale our operations." Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao said he was honoured the IT giant chose Hyderabad, and added, "This will create thousands of jobs here and is a testament to our proactive approach, quality infrastructure and the excellent talent base we have in the region."
