PM Modi thanks global leaders for congratulating India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday thanked global leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, for congratualting India on its 76th Independence Day.
A civilian and a police personnel were injured in two terror attacks that took place in Budgam and Srinagar districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and his spouse Sudesh attended the 'At Home' reception hosted by President Droupadi Murmu.
On the ocassion of the Independence Day, people at more than 100 crossroads in Lucknow stood in rapt attention and rendered the national anthem. Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde on Monday flagged off a special metro called the 'Azadi Express', which showcased the freedom struggle and the state's beauty.
The Azadi Express is a special initiative of the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMDRA) and Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, according to a government statement.

A complaint was filed with officials after teachers and other staff at a government primary school in Harraiya development block in Uttar Pradesh missed flag hoisting. A probe in the matter has been ordered by the district Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA). Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday announced a three per cent hike in the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees under the 7th Pay Commission, with retrospective effect from January 1, 2022.
A ceremonial parade was held at the Eastern Naval Command Parade Ground in Vizag to celebrate the day. A 750-square feet tricolour, that travelled from Sikkim to Antartica, was displayed at Lal Chowk.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday congratulated India on its 76th Independence Day.
“By joint efforts we will ensure the further development of the whole range of productive interstate ties for the benefit of our friendly peoples, in the interests of strengthening security & stability at the regional and global level,” Putin said in a statement.
