The Haryana government will reserve 20 per cent quota for SC employees in all promotions in groups A and B across state government departments, CM Manohar Lal Khattar said in the state assembly. The decision is part of a strategy aimed at enhancing promotion opportunities for all reserved categories in the higher echelons of government, sources said. The government will create a roster to implement the new reservation policy in promotions after notifying it within a week. Earlier this month, a delegation led by Rajya Sabha MP Krishan Lal Panwar received an assurance from the CM that the BJP-JJP government would give the reserved categories fair representation in the hierarchy of various departments. In 2022, Haryana brought a law seeking to reserve 75% of private sector jobs paying less than Rs 30,000 a month for people domiciled in the state.
