Haryana Governor takes additional charge of Punjab

Chandigarh: Haryana governor Prof Kaptan Singh Solani took over the additional charge of Governor of Punjab. Solanki was administered the oath of office by Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court at Punjab Raj Bhavan here, a official spokesman said. Solanki was given the additional charge after the tenure of Shivraj Patil as Punjab governor come to an end. The outgoing Governor Patil said he would ever remain in debt to Punjab and its people for the support, cooperation, love and affection showered upon him during his stint as the constitutional head of the state. Patil recalled the cooperation extended to him by the people, officers, Ministers and leaders of the various political parties and above all Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
