NEW DELHI: The Central government has approved a £207 million highway project to ensure faster traffic movement between Chandigarh and Ludhiana. Being implemented under the Centre's hybrid annuity mode, the project will see six/four lining of Kharar to Ludhiana section of national highway 95. "The 76 km highway stretch will be constructed at a cost of nearly 207 million and land required for it is 383.22 hectare, majority of which has been acquired and remaining 145 hectare will be acquired soon," said union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari. The highway is scheduled to completed in 30 months.
