Amritsar: Walking on his father's footsteps, 29 year old Navneet Singh Bains' hardwork paid off as he ranked 129 in the Union Public Service Commission's Civil Services examinations. Ecstatic over the results, he said, “It was my fourth attempt. In 2008, I cleared Indian Forest Services Examination. In 2009, I made it to the interview of the Civil Services Examination, but couldn’t make it. In 2012, I cracked the Civil Service Examination, but was allotted Indian Audit and Accounts Service. As getting into the Indian Foreign Services was my dream, I again tried in 2014 and tasted success by bagging 129 rank.” Singh has completed his engineering from Chandigarh and is currently posted as divisional forest officer in Ludhiana district. “My father Sukhjit Singh Bains, who is posted as managing director of the Punjab Finance Corporation, has been a role model for me who always inspired me to improve my ranking. My mother is a house wife. We belong to Amritsar City and lived here for long before moving to Chandigarh.”
