Five Indian men allegedly gang-raped a Dalit woman for the second time in two years to "punish" her for refusing to drop charges against them for the initial crime. The lower caste student and her family changed cities to escape the five men, who first assaulted her in Bhiwani, 2013. However, the men who remain at large, tracked her down and attacker her as she left her university campus in nearby Rohtak. "I got scared seeing them. They forcefully pushed me inside the car. They were the same men, who had raped me earlier," said the victim in her police statement. Passersby found her lying unconscious with her clothes torn, and took her to the hospital. The family said this was an attempt to intimidate her after they refused to accept an out-of-court settlement and ignored "constant threats" against pursuing legal proceedings.
