Mohd Mosiuddin alias Musa, an Islamic State (IS) operative in Bengal accused of plotting the execution of foreigners, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a special NIA court. Musa was arrested in 2016 on charges of brainwashing and radicalising youths, had also been interrogated by the FBI after his plans of targeting US nationals came to the fore. Chief judge Siddhartha Kanjilal sentenced Musa after finding him guilty of “waging war” against the government and organising followers to execute his plans. According to a charge sheet filed earlier by NIA, Musa was plotting ISIS-style execution of foreigners, especially those from the US, Russia and the UK, visiting the Mother House in Kolkata.
