Kolkata: Haryana's controversial BJP leader Suraj Pal Amu has threatened to chop off West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nose for supporting Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmavati.' Amu, Haryana BJP's chief media co-ordinator, who was censured by the top BJP leadership for his earlier controversial statements, told a gathering, "I have learnt that Mamata has welcomed Bhansali to Kolkata. And I want to tell her that this is the land of Lord Ram's brother, Lakshman. And I don't need to mention what Lakshman did to Surpanakha."
He also congratulated a Meerut youth for announcing £5,00,000 bounty for beheading Deepika and Bhansali. Amu had earlier promised a bounty of £1million on Bhansali. Vivek Singh, Prasashanik Sampark Pramukh of Hindu Jagran Manch (Kolkata) said, "We don't adhere to what Amu says. Since Mamata sought removal of certain portions of 'Zulifiqar' as it aggravated Muslim community, why is she playing double standards in this case? She should ask Bhansali to cut objectionable content and then release the film. If she can do it for Muslims, she must do it for Hindus as well."
